  • ground beef (any amount)
  • rice (any amount)
  • chicken broth or water
  • minced onion (1 small per lb.)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • cinnamon (2 to 3 tsp. per lb.)
  • allspice (1 to 2 tsp. per lb.)
  • nutmeg (1/2 to 1 tsp. per lb.)
  • butter

Directions

    Brown beef and onions in butter; do not drain.

    Add spices (can adjust to taste).

    Add rice and brown for a few minutes, mixing well.

    Add chicken broth, water or combination of both (2 to 2 1/4 cups per cup rice).

    Bring to a boil and cook over very low heat until rice is done, stirring once or twice.

    Serve with tomato and cucumber salad and plain yogurt.
