- 2 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. butter
- 3 eggs
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. hickory nuts, chopped
Directions

1Cream together sugar and butter.

2Add eggs and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.

3Mix dry ingredients together lightly with fork.

4Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.

5Mix well.

6Stir in vanilla and nuts, saving some nuts for top of cake.

7Pour mixture into greased and floured cake pans.

8Bake at 325° for 45 to 50 minutes.

9Let cool.
