  • 5 pints strawberries, hulled
  • 1 cup whiskey
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • creme anglaise or heavy cream

Directions

    Place all the ingredients in a saucepan and bring slowly to the boil.

    Turn off the heat and allow the strawberries to stand, covered, in the saucepan for 2 to 3 minutes, depending on the size of the strawberries.

    Spoon into individual serving dishes and serve with creme anglaise or thick cream.
