  • 20 small onions (if onions not small enough, may cut in half)
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 3/4 c. chicken broth
  • 3/4 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 3/4 c. bread crumbs

Directions

    Cook onions in salted water until almost tender.

    If onions have been cut in half, do not boil rapidly (layers should not separate).

    Drain.
