Holupki - Stuffed Cabbage

- 1 small onion
- 1 tsp. oil
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 lb. ground pork
- 1/2 c. rice, cooked
- salt and pepper
- loose cabbage leaves
- 1 can sauerkraut
- 1 can tomato soup
Directions

1Brown onion in hot fat.

2Add beef, pork, rice and seasonings. Mix well.

3Cook separated cabbage leaves in boiling water for several minutes until soft enough to roll.

4When cool, place 1 heaping tablespoon of meat mixture on each leaf and roll up and tuck in sides.

5Take 1/2 of the sauerkraut and place in bottom of saucepan, then cabbage rolls in layers, then the other half of the sauerkraut.

6Pour 1 can of tomato soup and enough water to cover. Cook slowly in covered saucepan about 1 hour.
