Ingredients

  • -2 cups cheese of your choice i use white cheddar
  • -1/2 stick butter
  • -3/4cup flour
  • -2cups milk (pref whole or 2%)
  • -3/4 box of macaroni (elbow works best)
  • -1small onion or 1tsp onion powder
  • -1tablespoon salt or to taste
  • -pepper to taste

Directions

    - Prepare pasta and set aside

    - Preheat over to 350 degrees

    - Melt butter in pan saute onions until translucent slowly add in flour until fully covered making a roux (if using the onion powder add in after milk)

    - Continue to stir mixture until flour is completely covered and is slightly darkened

    -Add in milk continuing to stir. Keep at medium heat until roux dissolves and mixture thickens.

    -Add cheese a handful at a time stirring until cheese is completely mixed in

    -Now salt, and other seasoning (I sometimes add some cajun seasoning ect it really depends on how you would like it) can be added continue cooking until you have a cheese sauce

    -Pour cooked pasta into pan with cheese sauce mixing until covered

    -Place in 9X9 baking dish and bake at 350 for 45mins covered w/foil

    -Remove foil add cheese to top and continue baking about 10mins or until it is slightly browned on top
