Ingredients
- 3 to 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 pkg. active yeast
- 1 3/4 c. milk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. margarine or butter (or Puritan oil, 1/4 c.)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 c. whole wheat flour
Directions

1In small saucepan, heat milk, brown sugar, salt and oil or margarine, just until warm (125° to 130°) stirring constantly.

2Put 2 cups all-purpose flour in large mixing bowl.

3Dump yeast on top, let sit.

4Add to flour mixture warm liquid and egg.

5Beat with electric mixer and dough hooks on low speed 30 seconds or until well mixed.

6Add 2 cups wheat flour and as much remaining all-purpose flour as needed for correct consistency.

7Set electric mixer on knead and mix for 6 to 8 minutes.
