- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 3/4 cup chopped green pepper
- 1 (16 ounce) can tomatoes
- 1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
- cayenne pepper (optional)
Directions

1Cook meat, onions, and green pepper until the meat is brown and the vegetables are tender.

2Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 1 hour.

3Remove bay leaf, enjoy. (or refrigerate overnight, giving all the flavors time to mix, and enjoy the next day).
