Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 3/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 (16 ounce) can tomatoes
  • 1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • cayenne pepper (optional)

Directions

    Cook meat, onions, and green pepper until the meat is brown and the vegetables are tender.

    Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 1 hour.

    Remove bay leaf, enjoy. (or refrigerate overnight, giving all the flavors time to mix, and enjoy the next day).
