- 1 pound salt
- 1/2 ounce saltpeter
- 1 ounce black pepper
- 1 pound honey
Directions

1Rub the ham all over with the salt, saltpeter, and pepper.

2Put it in a salting pan.

3Turn and rub it well with the mixture every day for 4 days.

4Then pour the honey over the ham and rub it in.

5Rub the ham with the pickle twice a week for a month before you hang it up to dry.
