  • 1/2 c. butter, at room temperature
  • 2/3 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 c. finely chopped almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts or pecans
  • 2 Tbsp. honey, warmed (for decoration)
  • assorted whole nuts (for decoration)

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Grease an 8 x 4-inch loaf pan.

    In a medium bowl, beat butter and brown sugar 5 to 8 minutes or until light and fluffy.

    Add eggs; beat until blended.

    Sift flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt into a medium bowl.

    Stir flour mixture into egg mixture alternately with milk, stirring until combined.

    Fold in chopped nuts.
