  • 1 tsp. vinegar
  • milk (enough to make 1 c.)
  • 1 c. cooking oil
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans
  • 1/4 c. honey
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 6 large apples (Winesap is best but Granny Smith will do)
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/3 c. orange juice
  • 1 c. vegetable oil

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Coat peeled and sliced apples (1/8-inch thick) with cinnamon and sugar.

    Sift together dry ingredients and set aside in medium size bowl.

    In large bowl, mix together remaining ingredients at medium speed until smooth and gradually add dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
