- 1 lb. black-eyed peas
- 1 lb. bacon pieces
- 1 c. chopped onions
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 1/2 c. cooked white rice
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
Directions

1Soak peas overnight in water to cover.

2Strain off water.

3Add bacon pieces, onions, salt and chili powder to peas.

4Cover with water and simmer 90 minutes.

5Then add rice and black pepper and simmer for 20 more minutes.
