- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/3 c. currants
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.

2Cream shortening; add sugar gradually and unbeaten egg.

3Beat well.

4Add dry ingredients alternately with milk to first mixture.

5Pour into greased oblong pan.

6Mix currants, cinnamon and sugar together and sprinkle over top.

7Bake at 375° for 20 to 25 minutes.

8Break in pieces and serve warm with butter.
