  • 5 qt. water
  • 1/2 c. (1 stick) buttter (no substitutes)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 nutmegs (cracked into large pieces)
  • 1/2 gal. 100 proof booze (bourbon or rum)

Directions

    Bring water to a boil in a large saucepot; add butter, sugar and nutmegs.

    Add booze and bring back up to hot, but do not boil (that would boil booze out).

    Serve in warm mugs.
