Hot Crab Spread

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 (6 1/2 oz.) can flaked crab
  • 2 Tbsp. finely chopped onion (I use all of scallion)
  • 1/2 tsp. cream-style horseradish
  • 1/4 tsp. salt (I use seasoned salt)
  • dash of pepper
  • 1/3 c. sliced almonds (I always use more)

Directions

    Combine and blend cream cheese and milk.

    Add crabmeat (I always pick over just in case some cartilage has been overlooked), onion, horseradish, salt and pepper.

    Blend well by hand or by blender and spoon into ovenproof dish.

    Sprinkle with sliced almonds and bake at 375° for 15 minutes.

    Serve hot with crackers or party rye bread.

    (May be made a day ahead and heated before serving.)
