Hot Fruit Compote

Ingredients

  • 1 large can pineapple chunks
  • 1 large can black pitted cherries
  • 1 large can peeled apricots
  • 1 can or jar applesauce
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. sherry wine
  • butter as desired
  • sour cream as desired

Directions

    Drain first 3 fruits.

    Mix fruits together in a casserole, preferably a shallow one.

    Add brown sugar.

    Pour wine over fruit and dot with small amount of butter.

    Cook in oven for 1/2 to 3/4 hour at 350°.

    When done, remove from oven and dot with sour cream just before serving.

    This is a nice accompaniment to a main dish. Serves 6 to 8.
