- 1 1/4 c. sugar, divided
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 7 Tbsp. cocoa, divided
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/3 c. butter, melted
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. light brown sugar
- 1 1/4 c. hot water
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2In medium bowl, combine 3/4 cup granulated sugar, flour, 3 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt.

3Blend in milk, butter and vanilla; beat until smooth.

4Pour batter in 8 or 9-inch square baking pan (greased).

5In small bowl, combine remaining 1/2 cup granulated sugar, brown sugar and remaining 4 tablespoons cocoa; sprinkle mixture evenly over batter.

6Slowly pour hot water over top.

7Do not stir.

8Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until center is almost set.

9Let stand 15 minutes. Spoon into desert dishes, spooning sauce from bottom of pan over top.

10Serve warm.
