Hot Pepper Cheese Bread

10 ingredients
6 steps

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sour Cream (light Or Regular)
  • 1/4 cups Water
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1-1/2 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Shredded
  • 1/4 cups Hot Peppers, Diced
  • 4 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 3 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 2-1/2 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast

Directions

  1. 1
Place all ingredients in your bread machine pan in the order directed by the manufacturer (usually liquids, then dry, then yeast on top).
  2. 2
Size is 2-pound loaf. You can cut the recipe in half to make a 1-pound loaf if needed.
  3. 3
Select light crust setting and press start.
  4. 4
Once machine is all done, set the loaf out to cool on cooling rack. It's a big loaf, so it's easiest to cut it in half lengthwise, then slice for easier-to-manage pieces. (I cut mine in half to help cool so I could eat it in about 20 minutes. I couldn't wait!)
  5. 5
The amount of peppers can be altered to taste/heat preference. The amount of cheese can be up to 2 cups.
  6. 6
**For the person who said they could not get it to rise, I'm not sure what the problem is because it has never failed to rise. I do use yeast that is great for bread machines and never use the timer. Also, it is a dense bread to begin with, but it does rise. I have made it at least 5 times and never had a problem!
