Ingredients

  • 2 lb. round steak, cut in 1 to 2-inch pieces
  • 1 can golden mushroom soup or regular mushroom soup
  • 1 pkg. onion soup mix
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 (4 to 8 oz.) can mushrooms, drained (to taste)
  • 1/2 c. wine (any kind)
  • noodles or rice

    Layer first four ingredients in casserole dish.

    Do not stir. Cover.

    Cook for three hours at 300°.

    Forget about it and don't look at it during this time.

    Remove from oven and add the mushrooms and wine.

    Do not stir.

    Cover and bake for another 1/2 hour, still at 300°.

    Serve over noodles or rice.
