- 1 heaping Tbsp. shortening
- 1 c. warm water
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- plain flour
Directions

1Place these ingredients in a small bowl; let stand about 15 minutes.

2Add enough plain sifted flour to make a stiff dough. Place in a greased bowl.

3Let rise until doubled in bulk.

4Work down with hands and make into rolls.

5Let rolls rise 15 to 20 minutes.

6Brush lightly with margarine.

7Bake in a hot oven (450°) until brown, 12 to 15 minutes.
