Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. white sesame seed
  • 3/4 oz. garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/4 c. lemon juice
  • 19 oz. can garbanzo beans
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • water (as needed)
  • pinch of cayenne (as needed)
  • 1/2 c. chopped fresh parsley (as needed)

Directions

    Process sesame seed several minutes until consistency of coarse peanut butter.

    Add garlic cloves, their oil and lemon juice. Blend, then add drained garbanzos.

    Add salt, cumin and sugar, then process until smooth.

    Add very little water for sandwich spread, a bit more for dip.

    Add a dash of cayenne pepper, if you like heat. Before serving, add chopped parsley for color and flavor.
