  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. corn meal
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 can cream-style corn
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder

Directions

    In a heavy pot, heat cooking oil. Be sure there is sufficient cooking oil to allow hush puppies to float. Mix all ingredients well. Drop by teaspoon into hot oil. Hush puppies will puff up as they fry.

    When completely browned, remove from oil to drain on paper towels.
