Ingredients

  • 1 large or 2 small heads cabbage, chopped or grated
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 c. cooking oil
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seed
  • bell pepper to taste (optional)

Directions

    Set cabbage and onions aside.

    Mix remaining ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil.

    Pour over cabbage and onions.

    Stir well.

    Let cool and store in refrigerator in a container with tight fitting lid.
