- 4 c. milk
- 1/3 c. cornmeal
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 2 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
Directions

1Scald 3 cups of boiling water in top of double boiler.

2Add cornmeal, sugar, spices, salt, molasses and butter.

3Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens, approximately 20 minutes.

4Pour into greased baking dish.

5Add remaining cup of milk, without stirring.

6Bake about 2 to 3 hours in 300° oven (slow).

7Serve warm with milk, cream or ice cream. Makes 8 servings.
