- 4 1/2 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. golden raisins
- 1 c. yellow cornmeal
- 1/2 c. dark molasses
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3/4 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 1/2 c. cold water
Directions

1Heat oven to 300°.

2Place 3 cups milk in 2-quart saucepan over medium heat.

3Scald milk, stirring constantly.

4Do not boil.

5Add raisins.

6Place cornmeal in small mixing bowl, stir in 1 cup milk. Add to milk in pan, stirring constantly.

7Cook until mixture thickens.

8Stir in molasses, salt, sugar, ginger, nutmeg and butter.

9Stir well to blend.

10Pour mixture into 2-quart casserole dish and grease well with butter.
