  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs and buttermilk to equal 2 1/2 c. (at room temperature)
  • 1 c. raisins

    Mix all dry ingredients; add soft butter and mix until blended.

    Add raisins.

    Pour in buttermilk mixture and mix until blended.

    Bake in 8-inch Pyrex dish at 400° for 45 minutes.
