- 1 Tbsp. bacon drippings
- 1 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 1 lb. lamb
- 1 lb. beef
- 2 c. water
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 2 or 3 potatoes, diced
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 Tbsp. parsley, chopped or 1 Tbsp. dried
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. each: dried marjoram, thyme and celery seed
- 1 bay leaf
Directions

1Place flour and salt in a plastic bag.

2Shake.

3Cut meat in 2-inch pieces.

4Add to mixture in the bag and shake well.

5Brown flour coated meat in bacon drippings and oil in a large pot.

6Add more oil if necessary.

7Add the water, vegetables and seasonings to the browned meat.

8Bring to a boil.

9Reduce heat and simmer about an hour.
