  • 5 lb. chuck roast
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. sweet basil
  • 1 tsp. parsley
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 2 c. water

Directions

    Roast meat and all ingredients in 350° oven for 3 plus hours or until tender.

    Remove meat, cool slightly and shred into cooking broth.

    If more au jus is needed, add partial can of beef broth.

    Serve over French bread.
