- 2 c. sugar
- 5 eggs, separated
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. coconut
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Cream butter, shortening and sugar.

2Add egg yolks, beating after each one.

3Gradually add flour and soda to the creamed mixture, alternating with the buttermilk.

4Stir in coconut, vanilla and nuts.

5Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
