- 3/4 c. uncooked rice
- 2 Tbsp. bacon fat
- 3/4 lb. ground chuck beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 green pepper, chopped
- 1/3 c. chopped celery
- 2 c. tomatoes
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. sugar
- dash of black pepper
Directions

1Heat fat in a 10-inch skillet; add rice, ground beef and onion.

2Cook, stirring frequently, until meat, rice and onion are soft.

3Add green pepper and celery and cook slowly for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

4Add remaining ingredients.

5Cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until rice is tender.
