Ingredients
- 3/4 c. uncooked rice
- 2 Tbsp. bacon fat
- 3/4 lb. ground beef chuck
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 green peppers, chopped
- 1/3 c. chopped celery
- 1 can tomatoes (2 c.)
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- dash of black pepper
- 2 tsp. sugar
Directions

1Wash rice according to directions.

2Heat fat in 10-inch heavy skillet.

3Add rice, ground beef and onion.

4Cook, stirring frequently until meat and rice are brown and onion is soft.

5Add green peppers and celery; cook low about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

6Add remaining ingredients.

7Cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until rice is perfectly tender.

8Stir occasionally. Makes 5 servings.
