  • 2 tomatoes vine ripe, whole
  • 1 onion large, quartered
  • 2 jalapenos with seeds - whole
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 4 bell peppers - any color - halved
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • bread European style
  • ham slices Deli
  • salami slices
  • 2 tomatoes - Vine-ripe, sliced

  • gruyere

  • butter for the bread

    Preheat Oven 350 degrees:

    Place the tomatoes, bell peppers, onions and jalapenos on a baking sheet.

    Bake 20 -25 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.

    Remove the stem from the jalapenos and quarter the tomatoes.

    Place the jalapenos, tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, basil, seasonings, balsamic vinegar and honey in a food processor and give a few good chops; until the desired consistency is reached.

    For the Italian Style Panini:

    Place salami slices on each slice of bread followed by the chutney, then the tomato, then the cheese, the ham, cheese and finally; put the sandwich together.

    Butter each side of the bread.

    Place in the panini maker and grill to desired crispness and color.
