  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Put raisins in a pan of water; boil for a few minutes.

    Drain. Cream sugar and butter; add eggs, milk and dry ingredients.

    Mix well; add nuts and raisins.

    Bake in 3 layers at 325° until done. Let cool.
