  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 tsp. allspice
  • 2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 tsp. cloves
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 box raisins
  • 1 c. English walnuts
  • 2 c. jam (1 c. strawberry and 1 c. blackberry)
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. pecans

    Cream sugar and butter well; add jam and beat well.

    Add eggs and beat well.

    Add flour, soda, salt and spices; sift together alternately with milk.

    Put a little flour on nuts and raisins; fold in cake batter. Bake at 350° in 3 or 4 pans.
