- 1 c. butter
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 3 c. flour
- 1 c. jam
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. soda, dissolved in milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar thoroughly.

2Add egg yolks and beat until smooth.

3Add 1 cup jam to this mixture; alternately sift in dry ingredients with buttermilk.

4Beat egg whites and fold into batter.

5Bake in two large cake pans or a tube pan in a 350° oven about 1 hour.
