- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 1/2 c. blackberry jam, thick
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. sugar
- 4 eggs, well beaten
- 1/4 c. sour milk
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 3/4 tsp. salt
Directions

1Cream sugar and butter.

2Add eggs and jam.

3Beat thoroughly. Sift flour, measure and sift with baking soda, salt and spices. Add alternately with milk to first mixture, beat thoroughly.

4Pour into well-oiled pan.

5Bake at 375° about 45 minutes.

6Use brown sugar icing.
