- 1 c. butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 c. jam (seedless blackberry)
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. black walnuts
Directions

1Mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg together. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, then jam.

2Mix together dry ingredients and add to batter alternately with buttermilk.

3Dust nuts with flour and stir in.

4Pour into three 8-inch greased and floured (bottom only) cake tins.

5Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.
