- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. oleo, softened
- 1 egg, separated
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1/2 c. finely chopped nuts (English walnuts or pecans)
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease jelly roll pan (15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch).

3Mix sugar, oleo and egg yolk.

4Mix in flour and cinnamon.

5Press into pan.

6Beat egg white with water until foamy. Brush over dough.

7Sprinkle with nuts.

8(Press nuts lightly into dough before baking.)

9Bake until lightly brown, 20 to 25 minutes. Immediately cut into squares about 3 x 1-inch.

10Makes 50 cookies.
