Ingredients

  • 3 lb. lean boned beef or venison, sliced thin (1/4 inch or thinner)
  • 1/2 c. salt
  • 2 c. vinegar
  • 3/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 3/4 tsp. red pepper (cayenne)
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/2 c. liquid smoke

Directions

    Mix salt and vinegar; bring to a rolling boil.

    Drop meat in for 30 seconds or until meat turns white.

    Drain and blot meat dry.
  4. 4
    Mix garlic powder, red pepper (cayenne), garlic salt and liquid smoke well.

    Brush mixture on meat.

    Put in oven and bake at 175° for 2 to 3 hours.

    If making at night, it is best if left in oven overnight after oven is turned off.
