- 3 lb. lean boned beef or venison, sliced thin (1/4 inch or thinner)
- 1/2 c. salt
- 2 c. vinegar
- 3/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 3/4 tsp. red pepper (cayenne)
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/2 c. liquid smoke
Directions

1Mix salt and vinegar; bring to a rolling boil.

2Drop meat in for 30 seconds or until meat turns white.

3Drain and blot meat dry.

4Mix garlic powder, red pepper (cayenne), garlic salt and liquid smoke well.

5Brush mixture on meat.

6Put in oven and bake at 175° for 2 to 3 hours.

7If making at night, it is best if left in oven overnight after oven is turned off.
