- 1 gal. cucumbers (about 18)
- 6 to 8 onions
- 3 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 c. vinegar
- 1/3 c. salt
- 1 tsp. alum
- 1 tsp. mustard seed
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 1 tsp. turmeric
Directions

1Wash and slice onions and cucumbers.

2Mix remaining ingredients to make syrup.

3Put onions and cucumbers in jug and pour syrup over top.

4Mix well and put in refrigerator.

5Next day, take out of refrigerator and shake well.

6Repeat this for 6 days.

7On the 7th day, they may be eaten.

8Pickles must be refrigerated.
