- pickling salt
- 1 gal. cucumbers, sliced and put in gallon jar
- alum water (2 Tbsp. alum to 1/2 gal. water)
- 1 qt. white vinegar
- 8 c. sugar
- 1/2 box pickling spice (tie spice in a small white cloth)
Directions

1Boil 1/2 gallon water and 1 cup pickling salt. Pour over cucumbers in jug.

2Pack cucumbers down well in jug.

3Let set for 7 days.
