  • 1 lb bacon
  • 4 lbs ground beef
  • 4 (15 ounce) cansdrained kidney beans (if preferred)
  • 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 12 ounces tomato paste
  • 2 onions (finely chopped)
  • 2 -4 ounces chili powder
  • 2 -4 ounces ground cayenne pepper
  • 2 (14 ounce) cans beef broth
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 -2 jalapeno pepper
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 12 tablespoons paprika

    Cut bacon into small chunks and fry until it begins to brown, then put in crock pot.

    Brown beef in bacon grease.

    Place beef, beans, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, onions, chili powder, and cayenne powder in crock pot.

    Remove stems from jalapeno peppers, and cut each pepper into 3 chunks.

    Cut tomatoes into large chunks.

    Place peppers, tomatoes, and garlic cloves in food processor and puree.

    Pour puree into crock pot and stir.

    Cook on low heat for 10 - 12 hours (5 - 6 hours on high heat).
