  • 2 lb. lean stew beef
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 pkg. dry onion soup mix
  • 1 1/2 c. red wine (optional)
  • 3/4 lb. or 1 can mushrooms

    Cut beef into 1-inch cubes.

    Place in casserole.

    Add pepper. Pour mushroom soup over meat.

    Sprinkle with onion soup mix.

    Bake at 225° for 2 1/2 hours.

    Stir mixture.

    Bake another hour. Blend in mushrooms.
