- 3 egg whites
- 1 egg white
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 (14 oz.) can condensed milk
- 1/2 c. lime juice
- 3 tsp. grated lime peel
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 c. sugar
Directions

1Beat egg yolks, blend with milk.

2Add lime juice and peel. Beat 1 egg white until stiff, fold into milk mixture.

3Pour into baked pastry shell.

4Beat 3 egg whites with cream of tartar until frothy.

5Gradually beat in sugar, a little at a time.

6Continue beating until mixture is thick and glossy.

7Fold in 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring.

8Pile meringue on pie filling and swirl it over top bringing it out to pastry rim to seal and prevent shrinkage. Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 350°.

9Chill before serving.
