Ingredients
- 8 slices bacon
- bacon drippings
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 large onion
- 2 (27 oz.) cans kidney beans
- salt (if desired)
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
Directions

1Cook bacon until crisp and crumble.

2Reserve 2 tablespoons bacon drippings.

3In a 2-quart casserole dish, put bacon drippings, diced onion and crushed garlic.

4Cook in a microwave oven, covered, for about 3 minutes.

5Add 1/2 cup water and rest of ingredients, including liquid from beans.

6Mix until well blended.

7Cook, covered, for 10 to 12 minutes.

8Place 1/2 soup in a blender for 10 seconds and return to casserole dish.

9Repeat with other half of soup.

10If soup is too thick, add water to make it the desired consistency.

11Cook for another 3 minutes in microwave.

12Just before serving, stir in reserved bacon.
