Ingredients
- 1 gal. small to medium cucumbers, tightly packed
- 2 Tbsp. pickling salt
- 2 Tbsp. powdered alum
- 1 (1.9 oz.) pkg. whole pickling spice
- 4 c. vinegar
- 4 c. sugar
Directions

1Add the salt, alum, spices and vinegar to the gallon of pickles.

2Finish filling with water.

3Put cap on jar and let set for 1 month.

4After 1 month, remove cucumbers from jar and wash thoroughly (jar also).

5Cut cucumbers into chunks and put back into jar.

6Add sugar and shake jar to coat cucumbers and continue to shake until sugar melts and covers cucumbers with juice.

7Pickles are ready to eat.

8Keep in refrigerator.
