Ingredients

  • 20 to 25 (4-inch) pickling cucumbers
  • 1 qt. cider vinegar
  • 1 c. pickling salt
  • 3 qt. water
  • powdered alum
  • cloves of garlic
  • heads of dill

Directions

    Wash cucumbers.

    Let stand in cold water overnight (add ice). Pack into clean quart canning jars.

    Add to each quart 1/8 teaspoon powdered alum, 1 clove of garlic, crushed, and 2 heads of dill.
