  • 1 c. egg whites (7 or 8)

    Begin and end with flour.

    Mix after each addition.

    Beat egg whites until stiff, gradually adding 1/2 cup sugar.

    Fold egg whites into batter and mix thoroughly. Turn into 3 (8-inch or 9-inch) layer pans.
