  • 1 lb. ground round beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp. basil
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pkg. lasagna noodles
  • 2 small cans tomato sauce
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 1 (15 oz.) can whole tomatoes
  • 1 pt. cottage cheese
  • 1 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 lb. Monterey jack cheese
  • 1 lb. Cheddar cheese
  • 1 lb. Provolone cheese
  • 1 lb. Muenster cheese

Directions

    Brown beef, onion and pepper; drain.

    Add spices and tomato products; set aside.

    Combine cottage cheese and Parmesan; set aside.

    Grate remaining cheeses, set aside.

    Half cook the lasagna noodles.

    In an oblong casserole dish, put a layer of half the noodles.

    Sprinkle with cheese.

    Spread all the cottage cheese mixture.

    Sprinkle with cheese.

    Layer with remaining noodles and sprinkle with cheese.

    Spread tomato mixture and top with remaining cheese.

    Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.
