Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. salad oil
  • 2 cloves finely chopped garlic
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 (1 lb. 13 oz.) can tomatoes
  • 2-6 oz. cans tomato paste
  • 1 lb. lasagna noodles
  • 2 c. cottage cheese
  • 1 lb. Mozzarella, sliced
  • 1 1/2 c. Parmesan

Directions

    Heat oil; add onion, garlic and beef.

    Lightly brown meat-stir occasionally.

    Add tomato paste, seasonings and tomatoes.

    Cover and cook over low heat approximately 1 hour. Stir occasionally.

    Alternate layers of cooked, drained lasagna, meat sauce, cottage cheese, Mozzarella slices, and Parmesan. Repeat and end with Parmesan.

    Bake in large Pyrex dish, approximately 13x9x2.

    Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
